Forms of activity
OPI has embarked on a pioneering founded on three interconnected forms of activity: research, education, and policy engagement.
Strategic Framework for Oromo Peace
The Framework was fundamental to reclaiming, legitimising and incorporating understandings of Oromo peace in every sector. It set out roles, responsibilities and timeframes for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the key objectives and policy directions. The Framework was fundamental in the development of policy and programs in both community and government sectors, including the Strategic Framework for Oromo Peace.
What We Do
Through educational programs, publications, and public research, we work to advance awareness of the Oromo people and their aspirations and provide insight into how these aspirations interact with regional and global stakeholders.
We share perspectives on Oromo political and military actors that analyse and engage with these entities and explain how the Oromo question impacts challenges of regional and global importance.
We bring together academics, practitioners, and other experts from Oromia and around the world in order to build this new understanding, setting the stage for a dialogue.
